The Giant Asian Mantis - Hierodula Membranacea

Country of Origin: Asia

Food: Anything that moves and it can overpower. Crickets, locusts, cockroaches, moths, waxworms, curly wing flies, blue bottle flies, green bottles, fruit flies.

Temperature: 22﮿C – 30﮿C.

Adult Size: 8-9cm

Humidity: 40-50% Spray once a day or every other day depending on how hot you are keeping your Giant Asian.

The perfect beginner species of praying mantis. Robust, grow like weeds, smash their prey, bold and easy to care for. Quite a leggy mantis that will outgrow their enclosures quickly. You'll be surprised how quickly they grow.

These guys can tolerate a range of temperatures and quite forgiving, They aren’t picky feeders at all and easy to handle. Highly cannibalistic and do not play well with others.

Giant Asians need a large enclosure of around 12"x12"x12" minimum for females. Males can be housed in slightly smaller.

Most of my nymphs are a light beige or a pale lime green colour, most will turn out leafy green as adults.
